Welcome to Peru, a west South-America country that borders the South Pacific Ocean, and home to some of the most famous and architecturally important sites. In the western end of the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu stands in the lush forest hills. As one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu consists of more than 200 structures of temples and citadels that were built in the 15th century for Inca Ruler Pachacuti Inca. In the west tropical coastal desert city located 7 km to the shore, Lima is the capital city of Peru and contains Pre-Columbian museums, representing the unique mix of Incan-Spanish culture. Up in the North, the fascinating Amazon forests covers about 60% of Peru in the North, which is filled with exotic species like macaws and sloths.

Providing different climates for exotic animals to dwell in, Peru is filled with biodiverse wildlife. Animals like the fluffy and adorable vizcachas, to the majestic and intimidating jaguars, and to the friendly and smart pink river dolphins are just some of the diverse animals in Peru. The size of Peru is a little bit less than twice the size of Texas with a total area of 1,285,216 km squared, making Peru the third largest country in South America. In all, Peru is a fascinating country filled with complicated history and diverse wildlife, perfect for tourists who love hiking and sightseeing or visiting cultural sites and museums.
